What is Eyebrow Micropigmentation?
Eyebrow micropigmentation uses a fine needle to apply pigment to your brows, mimicking natural eyebrow hairs. This fills in sparse areas and defines your brows, creating a fuller, more polished look. The results last between 3 and 5 years, meaning you can wake up with perfect brows every day without the need for daily makeup.
At Elenoire in Birmingham, we use the latest techniques and high-quality pigments to create a custom brow shape that perfectly suits your features.
What Can You Expect During Your Eyebrow Micropigmentation Procedure?
From start to finish, your experience is designed to be comfortable, clear, and tailored to your needs. Here’s how the process works:
- Consultation & Brow Mapping
Before any pigment is applied, we sketch your new brows directly onto the skin using a cosmetic pencil. This preview lets you see exactly how the shape will frame your face – and gives us both the chance to fine-tune the arch height, tail length and overall symmetry until you’re completely happy. We take our time at this stage: these brows are meant to last, so accuracy matters. The pencil outline is bolder than the finished result, but it serves as a precise visual guide for pigment placement. - Colour selection & blending
Choosing the right shade is just as important as the shape. We consider your natural hair colour, skin undertone and the look you’re going for – whether that’s a soft, barely-there brow or something more defined and structured. Using professional pigments, we mix a custom blend designed to complement your colouring precisely. You’ll see and approve the chosen colour before a single drop touches your skin. - The micropigmentation treatment
A topical numbing cream is applied for 15–20 minutes before we begin. Once you’re comfortable, we use a fine digital needle to implant the pigment with precise, consistent depth across the brow area. Additional numbing can be applied at any point during the session. The procedure typically takes 1.5–2.5 hours from start to finish, depending on the look we’re creating.Immediately after, your brows will appear 40–60% bolder and darker than the final healed result, this is completely normal and expected. Some redness and mild swelling around the brow area is typical and settles within a few hours.
- Perfecting session (6–8 weeks later)
The perfecting session is a standard and expected part of the treatment – not an optional extra. Once your brows have fully healed, we assess the colour retention, check symmetry and add pigment to any areas that faded more than expected during healing. This is where shape can be refined and intensity adjusted. Most clients achieve their ideal result after this second appointment.

Aftercare & Healing Guide
How well you follow aftercare in the first two weeks directly affects how your colour retains and how your brows look long-term. We provide a full written guide and healing balm at your appointment – here’s a summary of what to know.
Do
- Keep brows completely dry for the first 10–14 days. This is the single most important step – moisture dilutes pigment before it bonds properly with the skin.
- Apply the aftercare balm we provide as instructed. It soothes the skin and promotes even healing without disrupting the pigment.
- Expect your brows to appear darker immediately after treatment and lighten significantly over the first 2 weeks. The final colour reveals itself at 4–6 weeks.
- Contact us if anything looks unusual – we’re always available after your treatment to answer questions and put your mind at ease.
Avoid
- Swimming, saunas, steam rooms and heavy workouts for at least one week post-treatment — sweating interferes with pigment retention.
- Picking, scratching or rubbing your brows, even if they itch. Flaking from day 5–7 is normal — let it happen naturally for the best pigment retention.
- Applying makeup, serums or skincare products directly onto the brow area during the healing period — many active ingredients can break down the pigment.
- Sun exposure and sunbeds during healing – UV light causes premature fading of fresh pigment. Use SPF daily once healed to protect your investment long-term.
